MHK, I fell that most do not understand the most basic concepts of technical diving. I feel that many believe that all there is to technical diving is nothing more than straping on a bunch of gear and believing their cahonies are larger than the next guys. IMO, technical diving requires study and practice. Study of physic's, phisiology, equiptment, dive planning, environmental techniques, and a whole lot more. Equipment confiquration is important to the diver as well as his buddy. The fact is that the equipment on one divers back is redundant equipment for another in the same team. If a diver is straped down with too much BS gear and can not efficiant enough in an emergency than that diver is worthless as a team mate and a hazard to himself. Technical diving in my opinion should be renamed to Tactical Diving because tactics need to be deployed to maintain as safe a dive as another, dive after dive.
