Soak it in fresh water for several hours till soft. This will allow you to arrange the extremeties to your satisfaction. Glue the shell on any suitable hard surface. Old decrepid tupperware and Aqua Seal is not an option. You can shelac it, but it is not necessary. You do not have to do anything else if you like. It will harden and if kept out of the sunlight will retain its color for several years. It is however fragile and will shatter if abused. As much as you would like to - don't mess with it after it has set. Hang it on the wall, put it under plexiglass, or fill it with jello, what ever makes you happy.
