You are not being pedantic at all. I'm aware of the concepts, I'm Nitrox certified. But you're right, I made it sound as if I am not and have not much of a clue.
My mistake was that (for KK to accept the idea) I was thinking of EAN21 as the "Nitrox" mix used in future OW or AOW classes, in which case EAD = gauge reading.
Then, AFA narcotic effects are concerned, "shallow" was the operative word and I should not have mixed it up with EAD but said 'depth'.
