I wonder if what is really being proposed here is to
incorporate the training concepts of nitrox into the
OW course. It isn't necessary to actually use it, just
to cover the notions of MODs, oxygen clocks, and discussion
of the equipment issues.
NAUI would be shooting itself to mandate use, as many
area don't have it available and would sooner switch
agencies. It also makes no sense at all to require EAN
when the max depth allowed is 60ft, and more typically
is closer to 25ft.
