For the record: I joined AA on June 2, 1982. I was sober for nine years. I drank again in August of 1991 on an archaeological diving trip to Grenada. I rejoined AA on December 26, 1996, nine months after you certified me for Deep Air. I'm an alcoholic, John, and however you want to use this against me, I'm powerless to prevent you. I am what I am: a 68 year old independent diving ex drunk.
