We were on a trip to Catalina's backside on Sunday.
Yes, you probably saw SBI, as well as you could
have seen Clemente too if Palos Verdes wasn't in
the way. When on the backside, we could see
Clemente and SBI easily as well as Pt. Dume and
everything down to just beyond Dana Pt from the
West End. If you squinted just right, you could
see the very faint outline of San Nick beyond SBI.
It was one of those remarkable days on the
backside. So much so, that we opted for Farnsworth
as the first dive. An example where the actual
dive site planned was replaced with one that's
even better - "if the conditions allow".
