Hey, it's my understanding that the PADI Advanced course is designed to give freshly minted OW divers more experience while under a pro's guidance, and more basic knowledge about different dive environments other than the easy sites where cert classes are taught. Why so much indignation about that?
No question, though, that Rescue class sounds really lame -- where did you take it? Did you talk to anyone at the store or PADI about how bad it was? That's really the way to change things. If I were in charge of a store where the instructor padded his log book to get a credential, I would sure want to know. And PADI does some pretty serious QA follow up when students complain.
