There is a difference between adding weight because you have a different exposure suit and adding weight because you are cold and want to keep additional air in the suit..
This is a very common trick that east coast wreck diver's use.. The overweight themselves so when they are floating during deco they can add argon inot the suit to stay warm... It's a very dangerous trick and should be avoided, particularly in non-deco diving when the problem can be easily resolved with proper undergarments, layered undergarments and argon..
That's the distinction, not the fact that a drysuit may require additional wet -v- a wetsuit.. It's the compensation for the cold by overweighting yourself that worries me..
