Yes, that guy was the luckiest person on earth that day because the visibility was only about 10 feet, and if that other diver did not pass right over him he would probably still be there now. If he had been snorkeling 10 feet to either side on a different course he never would have seen him!
BTW, Larry and I found the possible remnants of a wreck way out there beyond that huge pinnacle I told you about. We found a massive anchor and chain, probably from the ninteenth century logging days, in 98 feet of water. We had to terminate our search before we could find any other parts (if there even are any) due to short bottom time. I know right where it is though, and I doubt many people get out that far. I can't wait to go back and comb the area. My feeling is that, if there is a wreck, they probably raked the top of that pinnacle pulling out to head south with a full load and sank.
