About a month ago I DM'ed on a trip where a pair of PADI dive instructors had to be rescued every dive. They did not know how to deal with mild currents.
Yet, there are many people, with only a basic certification that through experience have become very competent divers.
How do you propose to choose which ones get on the trip before it goes, and fill the trip so you don't loose money on it.
As a DM I can almost always see which divers are going to be trouble before they get in the water, by watching how they assemble their equipment and prepare for the dive. But again, I have never found any correlation to certification level.
