Here's a real telling example: at the local skydiving training center, if there are men and women in the same session, the women are required to make their jumps first. Because in their experience, if the men jump first there is way to much macho posturing and one-upsmanship. They have found that if the women jump first, then the men are more likely to be restrained during and prior to their jumps because "hey, a girl just did it!" And when my wife and I went to jump, she got to go first. So much for chivalry :-)

On a lighter note, if this rule is implemented, I think buddy breathing and surface rescue breathing should be required, with ample demonstrations!!! (sorry, couldn't help myself)
