Where Did All The Fish Go ?

I was setting in the wheel house on the Dive Boat Magician, coming home after a great day of diving. We had just rounding LA light when I heard the radio squeak a fish count from one of the sport fishing boats "200 rock fish, 67 bass, 10 sheephead and 3 yellowtail".
This set me to thinking, "this one sport fishing boat just killed over 280 fish" there were a lest another 10 to 15 other sport boats out that day, how many fish did they kill.
I dive alot in Laguna Beach and see less and less of everything. Very few bass, no sheepheads, almost no senorita's, no kelp, just lots of garibaldi. 30 years ago these same area's were teaming with all kinds of life, and now they look like a desert.
Many area's on the front side of Catalina are in the same shape.
Don't you think it's time to give the ocean a break? I know that Coastal LA and Orange county's could sure use one, and front side of Catalina needs one to.
We need to do something to rejuvenate our ocean. We owe this to the next generation, so they will not be asking "where did all the fish go"?
