As a boat Capt I've have probably heard a couple of thousand fish counts called in over the radio to the various landings. Every afternoon there is a long list of species and numbers. However when you watch the fishermen get off the boats at the end of the trip, most of the time the fish seem to be missing...... The fish counts that are radio'd in to the landings are to be phoned in to the newspapers for the next days fish report. People read the fish reports in the paper to see if it's worth booking a trip. Quite often the fish reports are what the boat wishes they caught, so I would take those numbers with a large bag of salt.........
