If by that you mean that they're not interchangeable, that's not true. All the inflator mechanisms I've seen are interchangeable between BC's. You simply remove the tie wraps and separate the mechanism from the hose. If you use a rapid exhaust-bad idea-you'll need to disconnect the cable from the old and reconnect to the new. Easy.

Conversly, the connection of the rapid exhaust to the bag is often accomplished by a screw down collar which may not be compatable one BC to the next, but that's a seperate matter.
