The equivalent is the difference in depending on electronic navigation instruments, which can fail, in blue water navigation and not being able to "shoot a star" with a sextant which never fails given the expertise to use it. Bottom line: regardless the the expensive electronics aboard, be sextant savvy or hit a reef, the equivelant of getting a DCS hit. Comprende.
