I agree that balanced first stages are superior to the unbalanced variety. However the highest flow rate first stage I know of is a
diaphragm model, not piston.
Poseidon balanced diaphragm first stages may be an exception, but they have a higher flow rate than any other first stage I have
personally used.
Poseidons are my personal regulator of choice, because of there ability to supply all the air I need under extreme diving
conditions.
The Scubapro Mk10/G250 is a good regulator, but under conditions beyond what most people experience, I have been able to
over breath it, to where it feels like I was trying to suck on a straw. I have never been able ot over breath my Poseidon.
I also like to use my US Divers Conshelf 21 for beach dives. It works ok, and is easy ti disassemble and clean. The newer US
diver models are not quite as easy to service.
