I think what I will probably do is find out what an average 80hp 2 stroke weighs, then get a new yamaha 4 stroke that weighs in about the same. The 4 strokes are considerably heavier so I'm figuring the final hp should be around 60 to 65. I heard from many people that the yamahas are very reliable and hold up in salt water the best.
I still have not ruled out getting a used 2 stroke just to get by for now, provided the price is right. The only thing is I can't use a 2 stroke on tahoe, and we were planning a shindig up there this coming summer.
Again, If anyone has a lead on any used stuff please let me know.
