Well Brian, if that's the way you feel, you keep your damn water. Just remember, that makes the Channel Islands OURS . . . if you want to dive them, you had better bring a whole lotta fresh water with you for us and all our golf courses.
BTW, as someone who has also lived in both No. & So. Cal (and can attest to the superior life in So. Cal.), I agree, Santa Barbera is definitely So. Cal.
