Someobdy has to make soem commission on our use of credit. I bought a boat on my DAN card (I needed a large sum of cash instantly They gave me 6.9% for 6 months. I will have it paid off in 5 so I got better financing than my bank or credit woudl offer me. Other lenders on boats wanted 12%. So I love DAN's card. And DAN makes money off it.
I spend about $90K per year on travel expenses at work. This is charged on my United Airlines card. I get miles and it helps us vacation in tropical dive locations for free. So United makes some money in the process. It is a good deal all around.
United Airlines and DAN are not evil because they offer this. Neither is PADI. Actually I prefer to have PADI remain financially healthy without raising the fees any more than they already are.
