Don't tell anyone, but about 85% of the fresh water goes to agriculture - my field of work (modeling for pesticide reduction and more efficient irrigation). Herein lies the north's real secret weapon, withhold your beaches and there'll be no more lettuce for your Summer-time hamburgers!
