Randy,

IMO, what the crushed foam offers is flexibility and toughness, not insulation. You'll still need an undergarment. I've torn a laminated suit twice, but never had a problem with my CF200. The neoprene suits (not crushed or compressed) offer insulation, but suffer from compression at depth and so lose that advantage. Buoyancy difference is largely a non-issue since the insulating gas is either under the suit membrane (CF or laminate) or in the suit membrane (neoprene) and will compress, requiring addition of gas to maintain insulation (and avoid pinch.)

FWIW
