Frank, Lately I have been composing a dateline in the history of diving dating back as far as 332 B.C. I my research I have found that many feel Cousteau was the first actal cave diver. He almost killed himself in an Island cave known as Fountain de Vaucluce in 1946 suffering from several equiptment failures, narcosis, and gas problems.
