The logic in that statement is that when your floating at the surface you can use the BC as an inflation source rather than bobbong up and down in the swells while you are waiting for the boat to come get you.. In some cases it has been 30 - 45 minutes you spent at the surface before we could get you...
Anyway, this is a productive thread and I'm not interested in deningrating it to explain to you the need for a BC...
