Kevin, for some of us, "deep" is a relative issue. For me it's in excess of 100 fsw. Beyond what specific depth does all this scary stuff start happening? Is there any such thing as a safe depth; a "ceiling" below which the bad shit starts happening and above which we can still dive and survive?
