Has anyone dived for clams, specifically Pismo clams? If so, what signs do you look for, what implements do you use, how deep (both water depth and depth beneath the sand) are you likely to locate them? I often find the empty shells but have never found a live one on SCUBA. I have found some searching the beachs out by Oxnard with a pitchfork at extremely low tide but there must be a better way. From asking other divers, I believe SoCal clamming to be a lost art.
