Ken, why is it that solo diving is so controversial but not solo (single handed) sailing or solo flying or solo skiing or solo hang gliding, or, or, or, etc.? These risky activities are applauded and encouraged, but not solo diving. They also have their share of accidents and fatalities. Please, anyone jumping in on this, don't dismiss my question as mixing apples and oranges! There's a contradiction here that deserves discussion.
