I would venture to guess it's not that long. We've all been taught that in-water recompression should only be used as a last resort,for example where help was hours away. It would seem that this diver could have gotten to the chamber fairly fast if help was called immediately upon surfacing.
Of course, we don't know enough facts or her profile to reach any meaningful conclusions, and maybe the divers that stayed on the boat called the Coast Guard when they surfaced, but it is interesting that a very experienced diver would choose in-water recompression (apparently) without a buddy.
