Ken she may well have made a bad decision that cost her her life, but I still don't understand where the hell her husband/buddies were. An OOA situation is the defination of an emergency and someone should have been with her. It's likely that extra bottle got away from her when she descended, and with her back tank OOA she was SOL.

As I asked previously, didn't they all dive similar profiles thereby having similar deco's? Were any of them OOA or close to it like her? I know I'd blow my deco and escort my buddy to the surface and back if an OOA situation occured after we drained all our tanks, that's why we're buddies! I also know that on a deco dive I'd be close to my buddy-especially at the end of the dive. It's frustrating to me when this stupidity happens to so-called experienced divers. Obviously 3,000 dives doesn't count for much if your dive plan sucks and your dive team is- well where were they again?

JRG

Ps: please don't tell me I'm insensitive-that's pure BS. How many diver deaths were there in SoCal last year?
