If you hang around long enough, you'll meet all kinds. I was diving at the L.A. breakwall one night with a buddy when he grabbed the largest bug I had ever seen. He estimated it to be over 18 pounds, but we'll never know for sure. When he noticed the extra set of legs and the hundreds of eggs under the tail, he released it. Back on the boat, I told him I was proud of his new-found altruism. He said he merely thought that by releasing that one, he could have access to thousands in a few years. Whatever works!
