i like to make clean grabs with no loss of antennae or limbs, if they're out in the open. If they're in a crevice and i have no way of knowing that they may be borderline, i just let it go. I have enough tail in my freezer that i don't worry about not bagging the limit or even half the limit (a far cry from my teenage years when i shot and killed everything in sight). Those of us who have hunted with rifle, shotgun, pistol, or game bag or spear tend to develop our own sense of the "fair chase" and for me personally, i place big emphasis on form and technique: more so than sheer haul. Not like any of us are subsistence hunters anyway...its all for fun, with a side benefit of putting some food on the table now and then.
