i will second jusfer's opinion on the 'great escape'
boat--good captain, crew, and destinations. it is
indeed out of san pedro.

another good boat, which is a twin sister layout of
the 'great escape', is called the 'encore' and it's
out of long beach. actually, it is located RIGHT BEHIND
the 'long beach aquarium of the pacific' at 'pierpoint
landing'--the aquarium is a must see, i think, as
a tourist attraction while you're out here.

anyway, just take the 405 south to the 710 south, then
exit shoreline drive; then just find your way to the
back of the aquarium and park in the smallish parking
lot.

check out this link for contact and boat spec info:

both the 'great escape' and the 'encore' make fairly
regular trips to santa barb isle.

check out the aqurium at:

btw, i've heard that 'atlantis charters', which owns
the 'pacific dream' boat that jusfer referred to, is
out of business or soon will be. so, you may not
want to try them.

best wishes and have fun.

kelphead.
