Sounds like a wrist mounted compuerized Doppler, to me. Doppler's can detect bubbles of a certain size moving through blood vessels. They can't detect a stationary, i.e. lodged, bubble. Dopplers are of limited use in predicting the bends since most dives that produce detectable bubbles don't result in the bends and the bubbles that cause the bends, i.e. those lodged in tissues, can't be detected by a Doppler. Their primary use is determining which dive profiles consistently produce large numbers of vascular bubbles. In that sense, they're ok for testing deco schedules. Attempts to computerize Doppler interpretation have proven fruitless, however, because the body produces all sorts of sounds. Hence, for the Doppler to really have any utility, a human is necessary to interpret the results.

For my money, I'd rather save up for that hoseless regulator.
