Diving is a great family sport. You can learn together, experience the wonders of nature, and you can't get into trouble when busy underwater with a parent! (well you know what I mean)
Maybe you can get the parental units to try scuba diving in a pool through the discover diving programs done at so many diveshops or at the scuba show in June. Get them to know the divers in the area and see if you can convert them. Then they can take you to Hawaii on dive vacations. That is what we do in my family. My wife and I dove before we had the kids. Now, 4 kids later we all dive and it is a wonderful activity.
