I was wondering what it is about increased partial pressure at depth that causes oxtox or N2 Narcosis. Why does this happen? Thanks.

PS I'm not in a nitrox course and don't plan on being in one for a while, but we are doing a unit on gas law in Chem. and I usually use diving and my example for the laws. It gets me thinking and I come up with questions to bug you guys.
