I have had this book, written by Robert Von Maier, for many years, and whether you dive solo or not he makes a good argument for being a self-sufficent diver. I dive solo from time to time, I prefer diving with a buddy, its more fun. I always plan my dives, and then dive the plan, when I solo dive I stick to the plan as much as any other dive, I just plan and equip differently.
