I recommend finding the local Maui Dive Shop and picking up one of their FREE dive location books and doing shore dives. Tank rental is just $7, whereas the majority of boat dives are over $100 per person.
Vis on the outer wall of Molokini was well beyond what my eyes could see. Water temp in early Dec. was 76, but I understand it has dropped to around 72-73.
