318 fsw
--------- = 9.63 atm sea water
33'
9.63 atm sea water plus 1 atm for surface
9.63 plus 1 = 10.63 ata (atmospheres absolute)
PO2 of 1.6
------------- = .15
10.63
.15 or 15% is the fraction of oxygen
FO2= .15
The PO2 has other constraints
One of them is time
Commonly excepted limits form NOAA are:
PO2 1.6 45 minutes
1.5 120
1.4 150
1.3 180
1.2 210
1.1 240
and so on !
As you can see there are some little things that a diver needs to know in order to breathe Nitrox. That is why the class in so important.
Disclaimer : This infomation is for Matts school assignment and in no way meant to teach anyone how to dive oxygen enriched gases without any santioned training. The use of Nitrox require more information to safely dive with.
