While there has been less than an enthusiastic reception by divers in LA to underwater hockey, I thought I'd update you that LA's group has switched nights to Tuesdays at the South Gate Swim Stadium at 7:30 pm. We've been teaching many young swimmers who've expressed interest over the past few weeks and are beginning to develope a very young, home grown team. For more info about our effort, go to http://www.geocities.com/glacd/uwhockey/lauh.htm
Also know that the weekend prior to the Catalina Underwater Clean-up is a regional Underwater Hockey Tournament being held at the Bud Kern's Pool, Balboa Park, San Diego on Saturday & Sunday, February 17 & 18th. We expect to have 8 teams comprised of players from all over the United States and Canada playing a very fast and competitive game. Viewing can be accomplished from the sidelines, albeit with a mask and snorkle and the play can be very interesting to watch from this vantage point.
Of course we welcome everyone to comeout and try it at our LA location and we'll be more than happy to spend time showing you the ropes if you will.
