Hmmm. 78 fatalities, 3 on Nitrox ( 4% ) 66 on air ( 85% )
Yes, I do own a calculater, but more importantly I wonder of the Nitrox deaths, how many were a result of the actual elevated oxygen content of the gas. How many died from Oxygen Toxicity or Pulminary Toxicity. ( And I have never heard of a diver dying from Pulminary Toxicity. )
If a Nitrox diver dies from out of air, is that a nitrox death ?
If a Nitrox diver dies from a medical condition ( heart attack etc. ) is that a nitrox death ?
If a Nitrox diver dies from a hit on the head by a boat, is that a nitrox death ?
If a Nitrox diver dies from the bends or AGE, is that a nitrox death ??
If a Nitrox diver dies from using some convoluted home-made gear and dies, is that a nitrox death ?
What do you think ?
