Then why is GUE bothering to issue a manual adapting DIR to basic, bubble butt sport diving? I'm sure there's no intention to "water down" DIR principles and practices. Or is it the beginning of a process to gradually wean us off our "stroke" procedures, the motive being to increase the margins of diving safety? If so, THAT I can understand. But the vast majority of us dive for recreation, and if tech ain't recreation...you guys are gonna be rolling rocks up a very steep hill to gather converts. But then again you say about the tech world:
"It's an exclusive club and it should remain that way"
I can guarantee you that it will, despite its finer points.
