Howdy... I dove the canyon Monday evening and it was a great dive. Visibility was OK, about 15 feet at the top of the canyon, progressively worse the deeper you go. Lots of squid eggs below 70 ft. and they are starting to get lively down there. It was also an unusual dive in that we saw several juvenile sarcastic fringeheads and 3 lavender sculpins (the ones with the little sail sticking up from their backs)... as you can tell, I'm a fish geek. Lots of octopii, also.
Many people hate the Redondo Canyon, but it is one of my favorite dives. It teaches you to move carefully and look for the little things.
