The "sockpuppet" brings up some interesting stuff, if you ask me. What do you want in a DIVEMASTER when you go on a dive boat?
I may not always choose to dive the way MHK would prefer, but he has my safety in mind and that is good. I have never been on a boat where he is the DM of record, but I would gladly go. What I want in a DM is attention to detail. I want him/her to know when I went in and if I came out. I want him/her to know a bit about me and my skills and experience and give me advice to keep me safe while enjoying my dive.
Never underestimate the value of a detail-orientated DM.
