MHK>When wreck diving ALWAYS use the rule of thirds.
Is this what you really mean?
MHK>1/3 of your gas supply for the descent and
penetration, 1/3 of your gas supply for the exit and ascent, and 1/3 of your gas supply for
EMERGENCY.
These two sentences together are a good rule. IE "Always use the rule of thirds for penetrations"
But I didn't think penetration was an issue on this dive (I realize that I may be wrong there) so I get the impression you really mean that first statement. In other words I get the impression you are saying "Use thirds on a wreck even with no penetration." Surely that is not what you mean.
At any rate I agree with your premise even if I disagree with the particular gas management strategy to use. This woman had no gas management strategy whatsoever.
Just trying to get into your head a little.
By the way, I dive thirds and all kinds of variations on thirds, but only if penetration is involved.
