I believe the point that KK is trying to make is that if less deco obligation and shorter surface intervals are that important to you, you could gain the same benefits that Nitrox offers by simply making a shorter, shallower dive. Nitrox may have some benefits, but are the costs of training, fills and gear worth the benefit? Each diver should be able to decide that for themselves. I have been limiting my number of dives on days when I go deep or stay down long. It's been a few years since my last five-tank trip.
