Actually my question had nothing to do with Nitrox. It was a question pertaining to whether decreasing the safety stop in order to decrease in-water time is actually safer. I would have thought that a shorter safety stop would lead to an increased risk of DCS by not allowing the slower tissues to offgas. A long stop would allow the slower tissues to offgas and yet at the same time not provide so much extra in-water time as to add dramatically to the loading of the slower tissues. Any deco-theory-experts have any thoughts?
