If you look into David Younts studies I believe he theorize that micro bubbles are possible transport mechanism's for free phase molecules. The theroy looked at the possibility for micro bubbles to absorb gas molecules, assisting in their transport to the lungs.

Axiom's are abundant in decompression modeling but that is because we can't actually shrink ourself's small enough to enter the human body, well at the cellular level.

More modern tools like the doppler and other testing have become convenient is finding a closer answer. What amazes me is how long some of this good theory was put off in the diving community.

Pushing the decompression limits could leave a diver with future problems. Often it is hard for moderate divers to evauluate their post dive condition so they could modify future adventures.
