i haven't used these undergarments in 48degree water,
but i wish i had at the time.

= : )

i bought an 'rei expedition wt' top and bottom (2
pc) for wicking purposes; over that i wear a very
yellow one piece fleece suit, the kind they use for skiing; i use
'coolmax' sock liners, then the warmest wool socks
i could find at 'rei', and i have a pair of
neoprene warmers to go over the wool socks if needed.

in other words, you can find these types of
undergarments at your trusty, local neighborhood
outdoor store--hey!! we need to support those shops,
too!!!

= ; )

the two things i overlooked now that i'm in a drysuit
are a really good pair of gloves and a good hood--it
won't matter how warm your body is if your hands
and head are exposed to that kind of water.

best wishes.

kelphead.
