I was certified OW in Florida and our first two "open water" dives were in the Rainbow River. My instructor informed our class that there was a cave and we would be descending near this cave. He repeated several times that no one should attempt to enter this cave. "Do not go in the cave, do not even stick your head in, it is not safe" He repeated this warning at least 3 or 4 times. As soon as we all got down and saw the entrance to the cave one of the students immediately swam up to the entrance and tried to enter the cave. Our instructor grabbed him by the ankles and pulled him out. If the instructor had not been there then this guy would have gone inside this cave without a light or a buddy, even though less than two minutes before he had been told how dangerous caves could be.
