you are right that $1300 is a lot to spend but again it is a mix/rebreather computer and is not meant to replace your simple one gas computer.
abyss makes no bones about it being only for the technical diver
if you are just diving air in a no deco mode this unit is not for you
i find that it tracks depth change almost equal to the nitek3
