As I understand your procedure, you switch to 40% on ascent, I would ignore any added benefits associated with the enriched mix during the ascent. By doing this you increase the safety margin. This would be what I do if you are directly ascending, if you are roaming a reef during the ascent then I would shave a minute or so off the NDL limit to acknowledge the enriched mix..
Alot would depend on BT, depth and residual N2 so it's hard to be any more specific than that..
